Born in Seoul in 1941, Japanese architect Toyo Ito created the “metabolist” movement in his time at the Urban Robot studio. After that, he opened his own studio to work on a method that blends physical and virtual realities. A prime example of this method is the Yokohama Landmark Tower, whose lighting changes colours with time. Very poetic. He teaches in Japan and in the U.S. at Columbia University.
