The subprime crisis did not spare us, but we were thankfully able to survive it. However, when this crisis broke out, the tense atmosphere made me reflect on certain things. I recalled a time when we visited our charming English supplier Samuel Heath in his Birmingham factory. He explained to us that, during the war, procuring brass was difficult, if not impossible. Furthermore, people had more pressing issues at the time than replacing their window handles. In order to save the company, Heath’s forefather had the genius idea to create the simplest of rings out of plain wire, which remained readily accessible. He sold them to young girls around the country for just 1 pence, and it was enough to save the firm! That is when I decided to never stop selling these German keyrings, which are both solid and indispensable.
